About The Founder & Us

Hello, my name is Bernell Adamson, M.S., RBT, ITDS. In 2011, after becoming a mother, I was inspired to create a program that would connect with other parents balancing careers, family life, and the challenges of raising children who struggle to adapt to traditional classroom environments. My journey became even more personal as I supported my own son, who was medically and genetically diagnosed, and met countless families worldwide facing similar struggles as myself.

With a deep passion for helping children thrive, I pursued a career as a full-time Registered Behavior Therapist (RBT) and earned my Master’s degree in Psychology with a specialization in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). As an Infant and Toddler Development Specialist (ITDS), I also work with families to support early childhood development. These experiences further fueled my desire to create a program that bridges the gap between individualized care and community support.

Today, I am proud to introduce Beyond The Label, Inc., a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing enriching and inclusive programs for ALL children and young adults ages 4-21 with disabilities. Our mission is to empower individuals with different abilities to thrive and reach their fullest potential in a nurturing and inclusive environment.

What We Offer:

Our Enrichment & Instructional Intervention Program is designed to promote independence, self-confidence, and well-being through a variety of activities and services, including:

• Behavioral and Academic Support: Tailored interventions to foster success in learning and social settings.

• Life Skills Development: Teaching independence with a focus on daily living, money management, and community safety.

• Group Socialization: Encouraging positive peer relationships, teamwork, and communication skills.

• Family-Centered Collaboration: Partnering with parents and caregivers to ensure progress at home, school, and in the community.

• Safe and Supportive Environment: Prioritizing participants’ safety, comfort, and individual needs.
